In September of 2022, I convinced my supervisors to take a chance on me and let me work as a news videographer.
The last year has been one of the most exciting, and fulfilling, of my life. I am experienced in editing on both the Final Cut and Premiere platforms. I routinely use my Sony XD, GoPro and iPhone on my shoots.
Recent Work, where I partnered with a reporter:
Henna Crown Warriors … this story was shot in an extremely confined space.
Boddie Records .. there was almost no video to support this story when I started, so I got creative with some historical photographs and an old record player.
Cuyahoga River Cleaning – I have received training in shooting video from the news helicopter and was able to incorporate some of that footage into this story.
East Cleveland Pianos – I had to work within time and space constraints shooting this story, a look at a unique family business
Robots at the Madison Library – I used three cameras in the course of this shoot.
MMJ Stories:
Day-Of Turn… that led to something more. As I was walking to do this story… I discovered this story here.
Food Desert Youngstown … One of the last grocery stores in the city shut down with the end of the Bottom Dollar Food chain. I normally carry 4 cameras with me when I’m shooting, and for this story I used every one.
Bedbug Investigation… Nearly every public housing complex in Warren has bedbugs. So … yeah. I want to go in and show people what they look like. Along with a super fun web tease.
Fire School … Sure, I want to take expensive cameras into a burning container. That will be GREAT footage! I followed the cadets for 8 weeks, as they went from raw recruits to firemen.
Food Waste … a fun look at how the average American family throws out thousands of dollars of food every year. So let’s stick a GoPro in a fridge to show what that looks like, along with a fun standup.
County Fair NatPk ... After 20 years of covering the county fair, I wanted to find a different way to tell this story.
