Public records can tell you a lot about the community. In this story I took a look at the county unpaid taxes registry – and I realized that one name was appearing again and again. I discovered a landlord was behind in his taxes to the tune of half a million dollars – and his tenants knew nothing about it. After previews of this story started airing, the landlord made arrangements to pay his bill in full within 6 years, and the county vowed not to seize the houses and evict the tenants, as long as he paid the taxes.
